The Malcolm Group Onboard

The organisers of Scone Palace International Horse Trials (21-24 August) are delighted to announce that The Malcolm Group will sponsor three international eventing classes - the CCI4*-L, CCI4*-S and CCI3*-L - at the inaugural running of the Perthshire event.

The Malcolm Group, a leading name in the logistics and constructions sectors, will also sponsor the Scone Palace Grand Prix showjumping competition - first prize £1,000 - on Saturday, 23 August.

The Linwood-based Malcolm Group and its owners, the Malcolm family, have had a long involvement with eventing as sponsors and riders. CEO Andrew Malcolm, his wife Fiona and daughter Nicola Robertson have all competed at international level.

Scone Palace International Horse Trials’ event director Alec Lochore said: “The Malcolm Group and the Malcolm family have been outstanding supporters of Scottish eventing for many years and it is fantastic to welcome them to Scone Palace this year. It’s always a pleasure when we see a Malcolm family member entering the start box, and I hope the opportunity will present itself that multiple members of the family will ride here and that future generations will be inspired to continue this great loyal family support of Scottish eventing.”

Perthshire’s Scone Palace International Horse Trials is poised to be a very worthy successor to Blair Castle International Horse Trials, which held its final event in 2024, and is the most significant addition to the equestrian calendar for many years. Scone Palace is an established and historic venue in the heart of Scotland, with excellent access and amenities.

Set in the beautiful park and grounds of Scone Palace on the banks of the River Tay and utilising the permanent structures and facilities of Perth Racecourse, Scone Palace International Horse Trials will host international eventing classes from CCI4*-L to CCI1* and British Eventing national classes at BE100 and BE90 level - including the prestigious Scottish Grassroots Championships. 

Scone Palace will also hold a multitude of showing classes for hunters, cobs, Highland Ponies, Clydesdales, native ponies and retrained racehorses, among others, with British Showjumping classes, Pony Club mounted games, and arena eventing competitions.
