1. General Information

2. Booking and Payment

Reservation Process: All bookings must be made through Scone Palace International Horse Trials in advance.
Payment: Full Payment for the pitch and any extras, such as electrical hook-up, is required at the time of booking. 
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made at any point by contacting info@sconehorsetrials.com and receive a refund. Any cancellation made within 14 days of the first day of the event, no refunds will be issued. No refunds will be given for early departures.

3. Arrival & Departure

Check-in Times: 12pm(midday) Wednesday 26th August. Campsite office will be open from 8am – 8pm each day where you will be able to check in if arriving later in the week.

Check-out: 12pm(midday) Monday 31st August.

Pitch Allocation: The campsite will allocate pitches in advance and in consideration of ground conditions. Please follow all instructions of the campsite team on arrival. 

  • Camp only within marked zones and pitch number allocated provided. Do not move any fencing or signage.
  • Respect neighbouring pitches – no encroaching or blocking access.
  • Each person is to remain within the space allocated within their pitch. Guests are not permitted to switch or move pitches after arrival.

Noise Levels: Quiet hours are from 11pm to 7am.
No amplified sound systems or generators during quiet hours.
Be considerate of others – noise complaints may lead to removal.

Fires & Cooking (In Line with Scottish Fire Regulations)

  • No open campfires or firepits.
  • Gas or solid-fuel stoves are permitted but must be used safely. All fuels must be fully extinguished prior to disposal. All persons using such products must have appropriate fire safety equipment in place including extinguishers and fire blankets. Barbecues must be raised off the ground and never left unattended. No single use/disposable barbecues are permitted on site.
  • No fires or fire-based cooking materials such as BBQs or similar are permitted to be used within or nearby tent structures. Anyone found to be doing so will have all materials confiscated. Any confiscated items will be returned at the time of departure.
    BBQs must be raised off the ground to prevent damage to the site.
  • All horseboxes, caravans, and similar vehicles or structures used for residential purposes during the event must be fitted with a working carbon monoxide monitor and a working smoke detector. The Event reserves the right to carry out checks to verify the presence and functionality of such monitors. No member of staff will enter any private accommodation without the owner’s prior permission.
  • Local fire bans (due to dry weather) must be strictly followed.

Dogs & Animals: Dogs are permitted on site. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, when outside an enclosed sleeping structure, and never left unattended . You must clean up after your pet and disposed of within general waste bins. Dangerous or uncontrolled animals will result in your immediate eviction from the event site.

4. Health and Safety

Emergency Procedures: In the event of an emergency, please follow the signage on-site and contact the on-duty warden.

First Aid: A first aid kit is available at the campsite managers office, and member of staff trained in basic first aid will be able to assist. However, guests are responsible for their own health and safety.
Fire Safety: Campers must follow all fire safety instructions and use fire extinguishers where provided, and in the event of an uncontrolled fire. Any deliberate and reckless fire-starting will result in immediate expulsion from site. 

Emergency Procedures

  • In an emergency, contact event staff, security, or dial 999.
  • If you or someone else requires first aid, please attend the campsite office who will call for medical assistance from our on call first aid team.
  • In the instances of severe weather, you must follow staff instructions and shelter where advised.


5. Site Maintenance and Environment
(Scottish Outdoor Access Code applies)

Waste Disposal: All guests must dispose of waste in the designated bins or recycling points. No littering is permitted.
Environmental Responsibility: Guests are expected to respect the natural environment and wildlife. No picking plants or disturbing animals.
Departing the site: Guests are expected to fully clear all camping pitches of debris and any items brought on to the event campsite. Please use appropriate bin provided for General Waste, Glass Recycling and Dry Mixed Recycling.  


6. Liability
Site Liability: The campsite is not responsible for loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings. Guests are advised to secure valuables in their accommodation.
Personal Injury: The campsite is not liable for any personal injury unless it results from negligence by the campsite staff or operators.

7. Alcohol and Drugs

Alcohol: Alcohol consumption by over 18s may be consumed within your campsite pitch in moderation. 
Drugs: The use or possession of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate expulsion from the site.
Antisocial behaviour, public drunkenness or disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the site.


8. Vehicle Use and Parking

  • Only one vehicle per camping pitch is permitted. This includes caravans and motorhomes. Towing vehicles and any additional cars must be parked in the overflow parking area.
  • No vehicle movement in the campsite after 20:00 unless in the instance of an emergency. .
  • Park only in designated car parks or alongside pitches if allowed.
  • 5 mph speed limit – pedestrians always have priority.

 Electric Vehicles: No electric vehicle charging is provided on the event site. 

9. Children and Supervision

Children: Children under 18 must be supervised at all times by an adult. The event is not responsible for the safety of children.

. Behaviour & Safety

  • Abusive, violent, or discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • Respect event stewards, volunteers, and other guests.
  • No weapons or items that could be considered dangerous are permitted on the campsite.
  • Fireworks and sky lanterns are banned under Scottish fire safety rules.

11. Breach of Rules

Any breach of these rules may result in:

  • Verbal warning or written notice
  • Confiscation of banned items
  • Removal from the event or campsite without refund
  • Police involvement (where applicable)

    10. Changes to Terms and Conditions

The event reserves the right to modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Guests will be notified of any significant changes.
