Viscount Stormont gave Ros Canter (team gold and individual silver), Laura Collett (team gold and individual bronze) and Tom McEwen (team gold) a private, bird's-eye view of the site of Scotland's only international horse trials, which starts tomorrow (Thursday, 27 August) and concludes on Sunday, 30 August. The main site of Scone Palace International Horse Trials lies between Scone Palace, the River Tay and Perth Racecourse, and Viscount Stormont pointed out visible landmarks of Scottish history, such as Moot Hill - where Scottish kings were crowned - and Birnam Wood in the distance.
Laura Collett, the reigning eventing European Champion and a winner at Scone Palace's inaugural event in 2025, said: "This is the most amazing place to have a horse trials - it is stunning, and we're so lucky to be able to compete here. We loved seeing the grounds of Scone Palace from one of the turrets on the roof - you could see everything spread out in front of us, from the beautiful cross-country course to the main hub of the event site and the River Tay. I'm really looking forward to me week here."
