We are excited to invite you to join the team at this year's Scone Palace International Horse Trials.
By volunteering, you will play a crucial role in making this event a world-class experience and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Over the course of the event, we will need volunteers for various roles including crossing points, arena party, course building, collecting rings and more.
The competition will include CCI1*, CCI2*-L, Pony 2*, CCI3*-L, CCI4*-S & CCI4*-L Scottish Grassroots Festival Championships, and grassroots eventing classes. We will also have some non-eventing classes including Hunters, Highland Pony’s, NPS Scotland and Pony Club Games.
Volunteer shifts will be full day shifts. If you’re not able to volunteer for a full day we do have a limited number of part day roles.
Please sign up to the role on the day(s) you are interested in helping with. If you sign up to a general or floating role, we will do our best to assign you to a position based on experience and availability as indicated in the questionnaire you will complete. Not all roles require equestrian experience, but all roles are important, and your help is very much appreciated!
Whilst we encourage and appreciate our younger volunteers, any volunteers who are under 18 will need to be accompanied by a Parent / guardian who is working the same shift and role as them.
Registrations to volunteer at our 2025 event are now OPEN!
If you are not sure how to use the Eventing Volunteer system, please use the guide below.

We are using the eventing volunteers for everyone who would like to volunteer to help at Scone Palace International Horse trials. You can access the website via the following link EventingVolunteers.Com
We recommend creating an account with Eventing Volunteers in advance. This will make it easier for you to sign up to volunteer at Scone Horse Trials when available.
Yes, please put in your questionnaire who you would like to work with. You will need to make sure you have signed up to the same shift / days as your friends. If you are signed up to different roles / shifts as your friends, we won’t be able to pair you together.
Absolutely! We always encourage and welcome new volunteers within the eventing community.
A small number of roles require people who have experience, but most don’t.
You will be given a full induction on your allocated role and your fellow volunteers and event staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
British eventing has some information about typical volunteer roles that are needed to run a full days eventing.
Some specific roles are not available to view on the Volunteer system. If you are a Jump Judge or working with an organisation you will be sent a separate sign-up link to Eventing Volunteers to use.
Do not worry if you cannot see the role you are looking for. Please get in touch with volunteers@sconehorsetrials.com and someone will be able to help.
We do not operate a wait list system for volunteer shifts/roles.
If another volunteer cancels their shift, a slot will open in that role.
We will keep in touch with all registered volunteers to let you know if additional people are required for roles.
We always encourage young volunteers to join us and help on event. However, all volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult during their shift.
Scone Palace International Horse Trials is a dog friendly site; however, we cannot allow your dog/s to be with you during your shift in the interest of safety.
Prior to the event, you will be sent a one-time access e-ticket. This will allow you to enter the site. Please report to the volunteers’ tent once on site to receive a wristband to provide access to the event thereafter if required.
Please ensure you provide us with an up-to-date email address to ensure your e-ticket arrives in time.
Shifts can last up to 8/9 hrs depending on your role and the competitions being held that day. Some days may be shorter than others.
We offer a very limited number of half day shifts.
Once you have created a profile and completed the questionnaire, please email volunteers@sconepalace.com for more information.
All shifts are subject to change. Any changes will be communicated to you via the volunteer system and updates will also be available on the notice board within the volunteer tent.

A team will also be on hand throughout the day to provide refreshments to you on shift. The volunteer tent is open throughout the day for refreshments and a place to sit.
